Travel day - On my merry way!

How adorable is he!? Hah.
This is a picture of a cat similar to the one I saw today.  It was the beginning of the long day of travel.  The people standing in front of me in line for one of the many airport security checks were holding this grumpy gills, a wide-eyed nervous thing that did not fit in to the airport surroundings.  But I was glad to see him--in fact, he made me laugh when instead there could have been tears; in the moment before I had said "see-you-laters" to the important people in my life.  All would be dandy.

Check out that greenness! Yup. The green here is truly that vibrant. Except today was much more cloudy, which produced rain, which flew at strong diagonal slant at times because of the intense winds. I almost got blown off the sidewalk and over a stone wall! Almost.  But with the right rain gear, a long walk through the dark streets of Galway tonight was an adventure.  Some things here have much different names and lots of things seem backward (mainly the roads...the roundabouts are the most mind-bending).  The pharmacy, I found out is called also called a chemist.  "Having a good time" in Ireland is known as "crack." A party is good crack.  A piece of garbage is known as rubbish and it is thrown into a bin.

All the walking and store-hopping made me realize how much I wanted an Aero Chocolate Bar! My last time in Europe, I discovered a delicious chocolate bar with mint flavoring.  It is formed with solidified air pockets in them which are like bubbles.  The bar just melts in you mouth, it's so delicious! I was not willing to purchase one yet because of all the money I had already spent today. But tomorrow, buying one of these is my goal:

Well, until another time, then. Cheers! And t'anks a million for following the odd beginnings to my first photo blog! Check in again soon to see my own photos telling the story.
